Help Me Paint My Future - Ayudame a Pintar Mi Futuro

Yes!  You can help children in traditional Mayan communities in San Pedro la Laguna, Guatemala have access to nutrition, art & education!  Mira Talbot-Pope is a psychologist and Funding Director, working voluntarily for "Help Me Paint My Future", a nonprofit in Guatemala.  She is bringing textiles (see photo), as well as paintings and crafts to raise funds for the programs.

The organization was founded in 2008 by Tz"utujil Guatemalan, Jose Antonio Mendez Chavajay and his brother, Henry in 2008.  Thirty children from ages 6 to 13 attend classes in drawing and painting for three hours every Saturday morning.  These classes provide emotional support and positive modelling for the children, as well as the potential to learn a useful skills in a town known for its artists.
