Double Onyx Bears Zuni Fetish Carving by Rick Quam

Double Onyx Bears Zuni Fetish Carving by Rick Quam

The Zuni Pueblo people of northwest New Mexico are world renown for their creativity and skill in stone carving.  Zuni fetishes are used for specific purposes such as healing, protection, hunting and fishing.  These carvings are a delight to the eye and heart.

Each Carving comes with its own certificate of authenticity letting you know who the carver is and what materials are used to create these magnificent Zuni carvings.

This is a strong pair of bears carved by Zuni fetish carver Rick Quam. Both bears are carved out of onyx. One has lovely brown striations while the other is a more translucent onyx in shades of pale green and brown. The couple are bound together with a shell and coral medicine bundle.
