Turquoise Mosaic and Orange Shell Kewa Earrings

Turquoise Mosaic and Orange Shell Kewa Earrings

These wonderful turquoise and spiny oyster shell earrings come from the Kewa Pueblo (formerly known as Santo Domingo Pueblo) in New Mexico.  This design arises from the traditional mosaic inlay jewelry which the jewelers from this Pueblo are well-known for and have been made for centuries. This wonderful pair of earrings feature square bits of turquoise mosaiced onto orange spiny oyster shells. Silver earwires are woven through the top of the shells.
