Zuni Corn Maiden Fetish Carving by Sullivan Shebola

Zuni Corn Maiden Fetish Carving by Sullivan Shebola

The Zuni Pueblo people of northwest New Mexico are world renown for their creativity and skill in stone carving.  Zuni fetishes are used for specific purposes such as healing, protection, hunting and fishing. These carvings are a delight to the eye and heart.  Each carving comes with its own certificate of authenticity letting you know who the carver is and what materials are used.

Corn Maidens represent all that is special about being a woman: being loving, nurturing, kind, strong, and having great compassion. This cheerful corn maiden was created out of antler by Zuni carver Sullivan Shebola. She is decorated with shell, turquoise and coral with bits of crushed opal shining around her base.
