Radiant Wolf

Andres Quandelacy carved this Radiant Wolf from gleaming mother of pearl.  It has inlaid turquoise eyes and heartline.  The nose, paws, and tail are detailed.  It is a beautiful wolf!

Wolves are guardians of the western door, the door of new beginnings.  In many Indigenous cultures they are the brothers and sisters of humans.  They live in communities like us, with the smartest and most courageous of them, most often females are the leaders.  They alpha female and male mate for life and are the only ones who have babies. 

Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal.   Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
